BAI price monitoring.
| Namatay | Nabenta kada 100 | Break-even ₱/kg |
|---|---|---|
| 0% | 100 | ₱68.19 hanggang ₱80.07 |
| 5% | 95 | ₱68.94 hanggang ₱80.82 |
| 10% | 90 | ₱69.77 hanggang ₱81.65 |
- 100 chicks placed at PHP 33.5 each, PHP 3350 in all. That is charged on every chick placed, including the 0 the death loss you entered takes out.
- Day-old chick prices come from the Bureau of Animal Industry price monitoring series in the archive, quoted per head, not per kilo. Hatcheries quote per order, so the archive figure is a monitoring average rather than a quote for your batch. Ring your hatchery and use their number where you have one.
- 100 birds reach harvest at 1.657 kg liveweight each, 165.7 kg for the batch. That is liveweight, the same basis PSA farmgate uses.
- 100 birds reach harvest at 2.36 kg liveweight each, 236 kg for the batch. That is liveweight, the same basis PSA farmgate uses.
- 100 birds reach harvest at 3.086 kg liveweight each, 308.6 kg for the batch. That is liveweight, the same basis PSA farmgate uses.
- Other costs are PHP 0 for the whole batch, exactly as you entered them. Brooding fuel, meds, litter, water and transport all live in that one line.
- Liveweight at day 28 is 1657 g per bird, read straight off the Ross 308 AP Broiler: Performance Objectives (2022), Aviagen as-hatched table. That is liveweight with feed in the gut, the same basis PSA farmgate uses, not a dressed weight from the palengke.
- Liveweight at day 35 is 2360 g per bird, read straight off the Ross 308 AP Broiler: Performance Objectives (2022), Aviagen as-hatched table. That is liveweight with feed in the gut, the same basis PSA farmgate uses, not a dressed weight from the palengke.
- Liveweight at day 42 is 3086 g per bird, read straight off the Ross 308 AP Broiler: Performance Objectives (2022), Aviagen as-hatched table. That is liveweight with feed in the gut, the same basis PSA farmgate uses, not a dressed weight from the palengke.
- 100 of 100 birds reach harvest at 0% death loss. Chicks are paid for on placement; feed here is charged only against the kilos that survive to be sold.
- Feed conversion is 1.5 to 1.83, the band Philippine open-sided farms growing big birds gave Datuin et al. (2022) as their target, a big bird being what the paper defines as over 1.7 kg liveweight. At day 28 this strain reaches 1.657 kg.
- Feed conversion is 1.5 to 1.83, the band Philippine open-sided farms growing big birds gave Datuin et al. (2022) as their target, a big bird being what the paper defines as over 1.7 kg liveweight. At day 35 this strain reaches 2.36 kg.
- Feed conversion is 1.5 to 1.83, the band Philippine open-sided farms growing big birds gave Datuin et al. (2022) as their target, a big bird being what the paper defines as over 1.7 kg liveweight. At day 42 this strain reaches 3.086 kg.
- The livability of 94 to 95% and the harvest window of 30 to 34 days sit in the same table of the same paper, one row over, so they are aims as well and not survival or age anybody counted. Compare them against the day count and death loss you entered, and expect your own flock to sit outside them rather than inside.
- Feed costs PHP 1800 for a 50 kg sack, which is PHP 36 per kilo. You supplied that price; nothing on this site published it. Note the dealer and the date beside it.
Ano ang hindi sakop nito
- Chicks are charged on the birds you place. Feed is charged on the kilos that survive to be sold. Those are two different populations on purpose, and mixing them is the commonest error in a batch costing.
- Feed is the only cost here that carries a range, because feed conversion is the only input with a published Philippine range behind it at all. The chick, other and labour figures are exactly what you typed.
- Birds that die partway through ate feed before they died, and this costing does not charge for that. It understates the bill. Correcting it needs a mortality-timing curve and no Philippine source publishes one (G-1).
- This is a break-even, not a forecast. It says what price per kilo covers your costs. It says nothing about whether you will get that price.
- Compare this break-even against the PSA broiler farmgate series in the archive, which is the Household table (0032M4AFN10.px) and describes backyard raisers. PSA also publishes an Average table that is establishment-weighted and describes farms rather than backyards; the two run materially apart for the same quarter, and the archive carries a retraction on exactly that confusion. Both are liveweight. A dressed price from the palengke is a different number, and comparing it against this one will flatter your margin.
- Labour is reported separately and left out of the headline break-even. Your own hours are not a cash cost, and adding them would make this number incomparable with the peso-per-kilo figures quoted everywhere else. The difference between the two lines is what your time is worth per kilo.
- The growth tables are Aviagen and Cobb-Vantress performance objectives for controlled commercial housing. They are what the bird is capable of, not what a backyard flock in Philippine heat achieves.
- The two strain tables disagree and neither is averaged into the other. Cobb500 is heavier and hungrier than Ross 308 AP at the same age. Pick the strain you actually placed.
- Feed is charged against the liveweight produced, not against the birds placed. Birds that died partway through ate feed too, so this figure understates the real bill. Correcting it honestly needs a mortality-timing curve and no Philippine source publishes one (G-1).
- Both tables state cumulative feed conversion including placement weight and excluding mortality. That is the source definition and it is not the same as sacks-fed divided by kilos-sold.
- No Philippine source publishes the price of a sack of finished feed (G-15), so the peso side of this answer is only as good as the price you typed in. Write down the date and the dealer.
- At 1.657 kg this batch falls between the two products Datuin et al. define, lechon manok under 1.6 kg and big bird over 1.7 kg. The paper says nothing about the gap. The big-bird range is used here and this line exists so that choice is visible rather than silent.
