How the figures were produced
Bureau of Animal Industry weekly “Avian Influenza Status Update” dashboard, report category 17, the “Areas with On-going Cases” panel, regions count, read from each week’s published PDF with `pdftotext -bbox-layout` by matching the figure centred beneath its own label. `-layout` alone interleaves the four counts with their labels and with a second REGION/PROVINCE header belonging to the recovered-areas table. The reference date is the report’s own “as of” date, not its upload date. Only the reports BAI typesets are read: 128 of its 137 published updates are scanned images carrying no text, and their counts are not transcribed.

Released under CC BY 4.0. The underlying measurements are the Philippine Statistics Authority's, under CC BY 4.0 (terms of use). The line below credits both, links their terms, and states that rows were filtered and retractions applied. It is also the last column of every row in the CSV, so a row pasted into a spreadsheet or a chat message keeps its citation.
