USDA Foreign Agricultural Service: Production, Supply and Distribution (PSD) and the Philippines Poultry Annual
What USDA estimates the country produced in a year, in thousands of tonnes ready-to-cook. Carried so the import figure beside it has something to be a share of.
PSA splits every quarterly chicken count three ways by the size of the flock it was standing in: 500 birds or fewer, 501 to 10,000, and 10,001 or more.
The fifteen raw ingredients the Bureau of Animal Industry prices every week, in pesos per kilo at wholesale. Between them they are what a sack of feed is made of.
The four levels the Bureau of Animal Industry counts weekly: regions, provinces, cities and municipalities, and barangays still under an avian influenza restriction.
PSA’s self-sufficiency ratio for chicken meat and for chicken eggs: the share of what the country used that the country produced, back to 1988.
How these figures are kept
Every figure here names the source it came from and links to it. Some are farmgate, what the grower is paid at the farm rather than what you pay at the palengke; some are retail; and a few are not prices at all. No page here ever cites one as another. Wrong figures get retracted in place and stay visible, kasi a number that quietly disappears is worse than one that was wrong out loud.
What this archive does not know
Some figures a keeper needs are not published by anybody. Those are listed rather than estimated.
