Native and free-range birds, which take three to four times as long to reach weight as a broiler and sell for roughly twice the price per kilo. Whether that trade is worth taking depends on figures nobody in the Philippines publishes, and these pages say which ones are missing.
PNS/BAFS 262:2018 counts broilers in kilos and native chickens in birds, and past 2.83 kg a square metre holds fewer broilers than native chickens. Read the two lines against each other and the same square metre carries 3.85 times more live weight of broiler than of native chicken, which is this page's arithmetic on the standard and on a published native mean weight rather than a figure PNS prints.
Nobody publishes eggs per hen per month, so every page that quotes one has divided an annual total by twelve. PNS/BAFS 262:2018 defines free-range chicken production in real figures: stocking density, pophole spacing, shade area, minimum harvest age. It contains no certification clause, no inspection, no record-keeping and no fee, and the only route by which it binds anybody runs through a different standard entirely.
The distance from the gate to the stall has averaged ₱60.50 a kilo since 2018 and sat between ₱50 and ₱75 in 92 of 102 months, while the bird underneath it got 61.1% dearer. It is priced like a service, not like a share of the manok.

The comparison everyone makes runs both birds on pesos per kilo. Four in five native chicken keepers in a 584-respondent Region 1 survey never sell by the kilo at all, which is where most native-versus-broiler arithmetic quietly falls apart.
Every guide to Philippine native chicken breeds carries a table of weights. Those weights are not in any Philippine primary source. What is published is eggs, egg weight, fertility and hatchability, and this page prints the empty columns rather than filling them in.
